Gmail is the world’s most popular email service, and with good reason. It gives you more storage space than any other free email provider, it can sync up your contacts so that they are all in one place, and the spam filter is second to none. But even though Gmail has a lot of great features for users, sometimes we need to delete our account. For some people, this might be because they’ve switched to another email provider or their job doesn’t allow them to use Gmail anymore. Whatever your reason may be for wanting to delete your Gmail account, there are five easy steps that will help you get rid of it once and for all.
5 Easy Steps to Delete Your Gmail Account
Step One: Open up your Gmail Posta account and navigate to the ‘Settings tab.
Step Two: Select “Delete Products” on this page, which is located near the bottom of the list under the Security heading. This will take you to a new window where all of Google’s products are listed in alphabetical order. Scroll down to “Gmail” and select it.
Step Three: After selecting Gmail, you will see a new window that says “Delete your Google Account”. Click the blue link to continue on with deleting this product, which is your account. You may have to enter in some information such as an answer for one of three verification questions if you set them up before.
Step Four: Once you’ve clicked the blue link to delete your account, a “Delete Account?” page will appear with one final warning about what deleting your Google account means for all of its services. The bottom line is that if you decide to delete Gmail and other Google products from this window, then after 30 days it’s final. You’re not able to come back and change your mind or use the account again, so make sure this is what you want before you click “Delete Account”.
Step Five: After clicking ‘Yes, Delete My Account, a final confirmation page will appear with the message that Gmail has been successfully deleted from your Google account. It also has a link to set up your Google account again, but if you’re not interested in that then all you need to do is click the “Close” button on this page.
